Facilities Maintenance Worker

Home Location: J.C. Lewis Ford Savannah

Travel: Local travel between J.C. Lewis locations with gas and mileage reimbursement

Schedule: Full-time Monday-Friday, with occasional planned after-hours or weekend work for specific projects

J.C. Lewis is seeking a reliable General Maintenance Technician to help keep our facilities safe, functional, and looking their best for our team and customers. This is a hands-on role with a variety of tasks, from basic repairs to troubleshooting everyday maintenance issues.

You don’t need to be an expert in everything – we’re looking for someone dependable, detail-oriented, proactive, and willing to learn (because we're willing to teach!).

What You'll Do:

• Perform general maintenance to ensure facilities remain safe, clean, and fully functional.

• Complete light construction projects such as repairing structures, installing fixtures, or minor carpentry tasks.

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, including lighting, outlets, and switches.

• Address plumbing needs, such as repairing leaks, unclogging drains, and fixing fixtures.

• Accurately track maintenance activities, inspections, and completed work.

• Follow all safety procedures and regulations when using tools and equipment.

• Work independently and collaboratively with supervisors and team members to complete projects on time.

• Provide support at other J.C. Lewis locations and properties as needed.

Who We're Looking For:

• General maintenance experience required; experience with light construction, basic electrical, and basic plumbing is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

• Must be 19 years of age or older

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and carry up to 50lbs of equipment and materials.

• Stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

• Work in a variety of weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, humidity).

• Access confined spaces as needed for maintenance tasks.

• Use tools and equipment requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

• Maintain visual and auditory acuity for inspections, communication, and safety awareness.

Work Environment

• Work will take place both indoors (offices, shops, maintenance areas) and outdoors in varying conditions.

• Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and other maintenance-related hazards is possible.

• May work independently or as part of a team, occasionally interacting with tenants, residents, or customers.

• Proper PPE and adherence to safety protocols are required.
