Logistics Manager

About the Role

Position Summary

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all logistics operations, including inbound and outbound transportation, warehouse coordination, inventory flow, and carrier management. This role ensures efficient movement of goods, cost control, service-level performance, and compliance with safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily logistics operations, including inbound receiving, outbound shipping, and transportation coordination.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support operational goals.
• Oversee carrier relationships, freight negotiations, and transportation performance metrics.
• Ensure on-time delivery, accurate documentation, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with warehouse operations, inventory control, and customer service teams to align logistics activities with demand and production schedules.
• Monitor logistics KPIs, analyze performance trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Lead, coach, and develop logistics staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
• Proven experience managing transportation operations and carrier relationships.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse and distribution processes.
• Experience with TMS, WMS, and ERP systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in high-volume warehouse or distribution environments.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience preferred.

Work Environment

• Warehouse and office environment with exposure to production floor conditions.
• May require extended hours during peak operational periods.
