Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care (IMCU) position at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center in Georgia, requiring at least 2 years of experience in high-volume hospital environments.
Details
- Position is in the 5J-Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) of a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
- Unit has 16–18 beds with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy
- Nurses are expected to manage Heparin drips
- 12-hour day shifts, 4 shifts per week
- Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
- Block scheduling is generally not approved
Requirements
- Active RN license — GA state or Compact license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments is required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
- Demonstrated ability to manage critical, fast-paced clinical situations
Additional Information
- The facility is a Level 1 trauma center known for complex, high-volume, and diverse patient cases
