Job Summary

As Executive Sous Chef, you will support the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations while ensuring a safe, clean, and sanitary environment. You will lead food preparation and execution in alignment with corporate standards and culinary excellence. Based at Cargo Hall, the signature dining venue on campus, this role offers the opportunity to work in a mission-driven, higher education setting with balanced schedules, creative menu development, and meaningful engagement with a vibrant campus community.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate kitchen staff in daily food preparation and service

• Ensure high-quality, cost-effective food is creatively prepared and presented

• Assist with planning, ordering, inventory management, and food production

• Help manage food and labor costs to meet account targets

• Launch new culinary initiatives in partnership with marketing and culinary teams

• Supervise kitchen staff to maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• B.S. or A.O.S. degree in Culinary Arts, Food Service Management, or related field

• 3–5 years of relevant culinary leadership experience

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills

• Proficient in food costing, product quality, and kitchen operations

• Up-to-date on culinary trends, food safety, sanitation, and cost control practices
