What we need:

The R&D Specialist is an established performer that assists in developing innovative products for flooring and other markets. This role conducts physical and analytical testing of assigned products.

What you’ll do:

• Work on projects and assignments as part of a large work team.
• Support R&D and manufacturing projects.
• Test new process technologies.
• Operate laboratory equipment that may include mixing, press-lamination, molding, and other techniques.
• Perform physical and analytical testing of laboratory prototypes using standard test equipment.
• Assist in developing new test methods where applicable.
• Assist in the transfer of new products & technologies from laboratory prototypes to production scale.
• Assist in executing experiments under supervision and document results.
• Assist in daily operation, maintenance, and cleanup of lab equipment.
• Provide process and technical support for R&D projects implemented in manufacturing.
• Work in a team environment within R&D department, and interface with engineering and manufacturing groups within the company.

What you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 2-4 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Knowledge of composite materials preferred.
• Able to set up, run and/or interpret results from a wide variety of laboratory test equipment.

• Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
