Hours: 37.5 hours/week | Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: Local: $3,000/week | Travel: $3,586/week
Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Wound Care Registered Nurse to join our clinical team. This role involves conducting comprehensive health assessments focused on wound, ostomy, and continence-related care, developing individualized care plans, recommending treatments, and evaluating patient responses to advanced wound therapies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Assessment: Perform focused physical assessments and health interviews for patients with ostomies, fistulas, and complex wounds.
- Preventative Care: Assess patients at risk for pressure injuries and implement immediate preventative measures.
- Treatment Management: Assist in selecting supplies and technology, including specialty beds and Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) devices.
- Education & Counseling: Provide patient and family education on prevention and self-care; develop and deliver staff in-services.
- Collaboration: Work closely with nursing leadership and the interdisciplinary team to recommend best practices and coordinate referrals.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in hospital-wide and unit-specific quality improvement activities, including incidence and prevalence studies.
- Advocacy: Deliver culturally competent care and maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with hospital policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Active New York State RN License with Primary Source Verification (NYSED).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience; demonstrated expertise in wound and colostomy care.
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA) required
- One current certification in: CWOCN, CWON, CWCN, CWS, or WCC
