Role: Staff Accountant Hybrid: (2x a week – Tues & Thurs) Location: Downtown Atlanta Compensation: $70,000-75,000/year salary Vaco is partnering with a growing investment firm to hire a Staff Accountant . This role supports daily accounting operations across the organization and its affiliated entities, ensuring accurate financial data, strong internal controls, and smooth audit and reporting processes. The Staff Accountant reports to the Senior Accountant and plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency in a fast?paced, expanding environment. Key Responsibilities Cash & General Accounting Monitor daily bank activity and process routine cash transfers. Prepare and record journal entries (capital calls, application fees, cash receipts/disbursements, travel reports, affiliate rebills, month?end entries). Deposit checks, research unidentified transactions, and maintain positive pay for fraud prevention. Revenue Processing Record all revenue (cash, credit card, stock) in the subledger and general ledger. Maintain stock gift records in compliance with policy. Monitor clearing accounts and ensure timely recording of investment?related gifts. Review interfund revenue and assist with planned tracking. Accounts Receivable Support the full A/R cycle, including invoice creation and monitoring outstanding balances. Assist with affiliate rebills and collections tracking. Month-End Close, Audit & Reporting Record monthly general ledger activities and close entries. Prepare audit schedules and documentation for annual audit and tax filings. Assist with monthly asset fee accruals and allocation journal entries. Manage the gifts inbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to internal teams and donors. Follow internal controls and support process documentation and cross?training. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting paired with 3–5 years of GL accounting experience (required) Large company experience ($300-500M ) with a stable job history (required) Strong understanding of fund, and investment accounting (preferred) Advanced MS Excel skills – Pivot Tables, Lookups, formulas (required) Various ERP systems experience - (Sage, SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, D365, etc. (required) Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
