Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for neuro/PCU and step-down patients, including monitoring neurological status and applying physician orders
- Perform NIHSS assessments as part of routine neuro care and ensure NIHSS appears in the CV packet for consideration
- Administer medications, manage IV access, monitor responses, and handle routine procedures per policy
- Document in the EPIC electronic health record with accurate, timely charting; update care plans and collaborate on discharge planning
- Monitor patient safety, airway, vitals, and comfort; respond to clinical changes and escalate to the appropriate team members promptly
- Work with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, educate patients and families, and support smooth transitions of care

Requirements
- Active RN license in the United States (state requirements per travel policies)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in neuro, step-down, or med/surg with NIHSS and ACLS exposure; neuro step-down preferred
- NIHSS documentation must be included in the CV packet to be considered
- EPIC experience is required
- ACLS certification preferred; strong med/surg background with NIHSS and some step-down experience will be considered
- Ability to work in a hospital setting with no block scheduling and no weekend requirements as specified in the notes
- Candidate profile must include: resume with no gaps >60 days, Skills Checklist, references, certification card, Nursys license verification; load all demographic info into profile, including a badge-ready photo
