Soul Foodies is a fast-paced, scratch-made kitchen specializing in Southern comfort food and Creole classics. We proudly serve our guests through takeout, pickup, delivery, and catering services. As a 24-hour operation, we rely on every team member to help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment that supports exceptional food quality and customer service.
Position SummarySoul Foodies is seeking a hardworking, dependable, and detail-oriented Dishwasher / Utility Team Member to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant, washing dishes and kitchen equipment, cleaning work areas, and supporting kitchen operations.
The Dishwasher plays a vital role in keeping the restaurant running smoothly by ensuring that clean dishes, cookware, and equipment are always available for the kitchen team. This position also assists with stocking inventory, maintaining clean entrances, and supporting other team members as needed.
Essential ResponsibilitiesDishwashing & Sanitation- Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, pots, pans, utensils, sheet pans, cutting boards, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain a steady supply of clean kitchen tools and equipment for all shifts.
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all dishes and equipment meet sanitation standards before being returned to service.
- Keep dishwashing stations clean, organized, and free of debris throughout the shift.
- Mop kitchen floors, storage areas, walk-in coolers, restrooms, and common work areas according to company standards.
- Sweep and clean the front entrance throughout the day.
- Sweep and clean the back entrance, loading areas, and employee entrances.
- Maintain clean sidewalks, entryways, and surrounding exterior areas.
- Remove trash and recycling from all designated areas and transport to appropriate disposal locations.
- Clean walls, shelving, drains, sinks, and other kitchen surfaces as assigned.
- Assist with deep cleaning projects and scheduled cleaning tasks.
- Assist with keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and running efficiently.
- Help maintain stocked line refrigerators, prep stations, and storage areas.
- Support cooks and prep staff by ensuring clean equipment is readily available.
- Assist with breaking down and cleaning stations at the end of service.
- Help organize storage areas, walk-in coolers, and freezers.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and putting away inventory.
- Properly rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Stock supplies and ingredients in designated storage locations.
- Notify management of low stock items, cleaning supplies, or equipment issues.
- Help maintain organized dry storage, cooler, and freezer areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Properly handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation products.
- Maintain a safe work environment by promptly addressing spills and hazards.
- Follow company safety procedures and use personal protective equipment when required.
- Previous dishwashing, janitorial, restaurant, warehouse, or utility experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to support the team.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move continuously for extended periods.

- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals, kitchen equipment, and dishwashing machinery.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions such as lifting, scrubbing, sweeping, mopping, and stocking.
