Job Summary:
We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist in the state of Georgia to join our team. The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing prescription medications, ensuring patient safety, providing clinical guidance, and maintaining compliance with all pharmacy regulations. Long-term care or retail pharmacy experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately
- Monitor patient medication compliance and usage patterns
- Ensure all pharmaceutical practices comply with applicable laws and regulations
- Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate for patients
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files
- Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, storage, side effects, and interactions
- Answer patient questions regarding prescriptions and over-the-counter medications
- Provide health services such as:
- Smoking cessation counseling
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Cholesterol management
- Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices (e.g., blood pressure monitors, glucose meters)
- Compound medications for internal and external use
- Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks
- Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
- Identify and resolve drug-related problems in collaboration with healthcare providers
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Active Pharmacist license in the state of Georgia (in good standing)
- Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities
