Shipping or Receiving Clerk

Client seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Shipping & Receiving Clerk who takes pride in accuracy, efficiency, and maintaining smooth warehouse operations. In this role, you will oversee all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring materials are received, verified, documented, and dispatched accurately using our ERP system. You will play a critical role in maintaining inventory integrity, supporting on-time deliveries, and upholding a safe and organized warehouse environment.

salary: $18 - $20 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
education: Associate

Responsibilities

Receive, unpack, and distribute all incoming shipments, verifying contents against
purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy.
 Package and ship outgoing orders safely and securely, confirming all sales orders
match packing lists and documentation before dispatch.
 Create and process shipping documents including purchase orders, bills of lading,
packing slips, and shipping orders to ensure accurate routing to customers.
 Determine appropriate shipping methods using knowledge of shipping procedures,
carriers, routes, and rates.
 Generate and print shipping labels, schedule carrier pickups, and monitor shipments
to confirm timely delivery.
 Track customer shipments and file traces or claims with carriers when required.
 Record shipment data, including damages or discrepancies, for reporting,
accounting, and record-keeping purposes.
 Communicate proactively with supervisors to resolve issues such as shortages,
damages, or nonconformance to specifications.
 Perform inventory management functions including cycle counts, inventory transfers,
and adjustments to maintain system accuracy.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 4 hours at one time

Skills

• shipping (2 years of experience is preferred)
• receiving clerk (2 years of experience is preferred)
• ERP (2 years of experience is preferred)
• warehouse experience (2 years of experience is preferred)
