Job Title: Maintenance Millwright Technician
Job Description
Join our team as a Maintenance Technician, where you'll be part of a dynamic environment focused on the maintenance and operations of Peanut Shelling Operations and Buying Points. This role is perfect for those at various levels of experience, from skilled entry-level technicians to those with advanced expertise in fabrication and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Shift: Monday-Friday 7am to 3:30pm, on call for emergencies every other week.
- Pay: dependent on skill, 18- 25/hr with increase after evaluation.
- Perform a variety of skilled work in the maintenance and repair of plant and buying point facilities and equipment.
- Prioritize, schedule, assign, and coordinate the work of assigned staff to accomplish a wide variety of duties related to the plant.
- Maintain tools and shop in a clean and sanitary condition for use within a shelling facility.
- Assist in the purchase, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring and fixtures.
- Troubleshoot and repair fans, motors, bells, clocks, and lighting circuits.
- Perform skilled maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Operate a variety of equipment and machines including saws, drill presses, and various hand and power tools.
- Ensure compliance with safety practices and procedures and with applicable federal, state, and local codes, regulations, and requirements.
- Maintain records related to labor, materials, and work orders.
- Operate trucks to pick up and deliver equipment and supplies.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Preventive Control Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
- Adhere to Company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use.
- Assist plant operations personnel in sanitary efforts to comply with the company’s current Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) guidelines.
- Use only Food Grade grease in areas that may have exposure to food contact surfaces.
- Inspect equipment and surrounding areas to ensure safety before resuming operations.
- Assist plant personnel in identifying sources of contamination.
- Ensure all Lock Out Tag Out, Confined Space, Working at Heights, Hot Work Permits, and At-Risk activity policies are strictly followed.
- Execute the preventive maintenance program and make suggestions as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Forklift experience preferred for Tech I, required for Tech II-IV
- Experience in a food manufacturing facility is preferred
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in extreme conditions, including heat and cold
- Flexible work schedule required, including weekends, holidays, and nights

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
