FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor- Counseling.
Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. JOB SUMMARY:
This announcement is to assist in the building a pool of candidates for upcoming adjunct (part-time) opportunities within the Counseling Department. Currently, we are recruiting for adjunct faculty to teach courses in Counseling. Courses will be offered in in-person, hybrid, and/or online modalities.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach graduate level core counseling courses or specific to a counseling specialty.
- Adhere to the course syllabus requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of grades and attendance.
- Provide timely feedback and to student emails.
- Submit midterm and final grades by deadlines.
- Teach courses as assigned by the Department Chair and maintain University policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CORE COUNSELING COURSES:
- Master's degree in counseling. Preferably a PhD or EdD in counseling from a CACREP graduate program.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
- Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills and teamwork.
- At least 2 years of experience at the university level.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS for SPECIALTY AREAS:
- Clinical Mental Health Counseling- Must have an LPC or NCC
- Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling- Must have a CRC
- School Counselor Education- Must have a current school counseling certificate.
