Dispatch Assistant
SLD Transport, Inc.

Summary
The Dispatch Assistant supports our flatbed and piggyback-forklift operations by ensuring that drivers, customers, and internal teams stay connected and informed. This role is key to keeping loads moving on time and within all safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily driver schedules, load assignments, and route updates.

• Communicate with drivers, customers, and dispatch leadership to relay instructions and resolve issues in real time.

• Track loads in TMS/ELD systems (e.g., Prophesy, Samsara) and update status notes.

• Prepare and review trip documents—BOLs, gate receipts, PODs—for accuracy and timely submission.

• Assist with after-hours or emergency dispatch coverage as needed.

• Maintain records for safety, DOT, and company compliance.

Qualifications

• Prior dispatch, logistics, or trucking operations experience preferred but not required.

• Strong communication skills and a calm, problem-solving approach.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with transportation management or telematics systems a plus.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.

Schedule & Reporting
Full-time, on-site at SLD Transport’s dispatch office. Reports to the Dispatch Manager.
