Kitchen Manager – Casual Fine Dining
Reports To: Owner / Director of Culinary / General Manager
The Role:
We are an independent casual fine dining restaurant seeking a corporate-trained Kitchen Manager to bring structure, consistency, and leadership to daily kitchen operations. This is a hands-on role focused on execution, systems, and team accountability—not a clipboard position.
You will work directly with ownership and culinary leadership to stabilize operations, tighten food cost, improve training, and elevate service consistency.
What You’ll Do:
- Own day-to-day BOH operations: prep, line execution, cleanliness, and service readiness.
- Enforce recipes, portions, prep standards, and plating with consistency.
- Run line checks, manage service flow, and step in where needed.
- Manage ordering, inventory, waste, and food cost with clear accountability.
- Build schedules that balance labor control with service quality.
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and inspection readiness at all times.
- Train, coach, and hold the kitchen team accountable to standards.
- Partner closely with FOH leadership to deliver smooth, professional service.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3–5+ years as a Kitchen Manager or Sous Chef in a corporate or systems-driven restaurant.
- Strong understanding of food cost, inventory, labor, and kitchen controls.
- Experience bringing structure and consistency into an independent kitchen.
- Calm, organized leader who leads from the floor.
- Scratch kitchen and casual fine dining experience preferred.
