Pharmacy Resident

Job Summary
To attain knowledge and practical experience in a variety of direct patient care settings. These will include both inpatient and outpatient clinical areas as required by the PGY1 Residency Program.

Qualifications
Doctorate in in Pharm D. Required
Or, bachelor’s degree in pharmacy. Required

Work Experience
1 or more years’ experience in a hospital. Required

Licenses and Certifications

PHARM-R - Registered Pharmacist, In the State of Georgia as per ASHP requirements. Required

Essential Functions
Develops and shows competency on the following skills to perform daily pharmacist functions.
Other skills may be added as additional clinical services are developed.
Order Processing/Profile Review-includes assessment for safety, efficacy, appropriateness and accuracy.
Pharmacokinetics.
Anticoagulation.
Renal Dose Monitoring.
Nutrition Support.
Antibiotic Stewardship.
Formulary Management.
Completes all assignments of the ASHP Accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program to meet the required standards.
Completes all assigned rotations of the Residency Program.
Performs all duties and responsibilities of pharmacist as workload necessitates.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Residency Program Director and Committee, according to ASHP standards and guidelines.
Assumes responsibility for pharmacy services for the patients in the assigned rotation under direction of the preceptor(s) and Residency Program Director.
Provides applicable, timely, precise, and evidence-based responses to requests for drug information from healthcare providers.
Provides pharmacy related education/in-services to healthcare providers and/or patients as requested.
Documents and submits required information and data in a timely fashion.
Clearly and accurately documents designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc.
Ensures that documentation is tailored to expected readers / users.
Uses correct terminology.
Conforms to required style and format.
Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role.
Understands equipment operation.
Maintains equipment in working order.
Troubleshoots equipment problems.
Uses technology to increase productivity.
Adapts to new technology
