Assistant Teacher
Summary Assistant Teachers are responsible for classroom management, supervision of the children, implementing activities in the classrooms, as well as supervision of University students and substitute teachers. This position also involves the implementation of all classroom activities according to the standards of the NAEYC, DECAL, and the Child Development Lab at the McPhaul Center. Duties 45% Stooping/Squatting
30% Sitting (primarily on the floor)
20% Standing/Walking
Lift minimum of 20-40 lbs Requirements Associates Degree Nice To Haves Previous experience working with young children, their families, and other educators; ability to interact with other adults and children in a respectful, courteous, professional manner; understands, accepts, and promotes the philosophies and standards set by NAEYC, DECAL, and the CDL.
