Manufacturing Support Roles
Carter Architectural Millwork, a division of Carter Lumber, is seeking proactive, dependable, and detail-oriented Manufacturing Support team members to join our growing manufacturing facility. This posting is intended to support multiple roles within our production environment, including machine operation, casework assembly, cabinet assembly, custom building, material handling, and general shop support.
In this role, you will play an important part in helping our team manufacture high-quality architectural millwork, cabinetry, casework, countertops, and custom commercial products. Your hands-on skills, mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and willingness to learn will help us maintain strong standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and craftsmanship across our manufacturing operation. Qualifications:- Previous manufacturing, woodworking, cabinetry, millwork, assembly, or factory experience preferred.
- Experience with cabinet assembly, casework assembly, machine operation, custom building, or general production work is a strong plus.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Forklift experience or certification preferred, but not required for all roles.
- Ability to read basic work instructions, measurements, shop drawings, labels, or production paperwork.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move materials for extended periods during the shift.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to work as part of a team.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, grow, and take on new responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery, forklifts, power tools, and hand tools safely to support production and material movement.
- Assist with machine operation, cabinet assembly, casework assembly, custom millwork fabrication, and general shop production tasks.
- Support daily manufacturing operations by preparing, staging, and organizing materials, parts, tools, and supplies.
- Assist with the assembly of cabinetry, casework, countertops, and architectural millwork products to meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Read and follow basic shop instructions, drawings, labels, work orders, and direction from production leadership.
- Conduct routine visual inspections of materials, equipment, and finished products to help identify quality concerns, maintenance needs, or safety hazards.
- Collaborate with team members across production, assembly, custom building, finishing, shipping, and warehouse areas to help meet production schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safe working conditions within the manufacturing facility and warehouse areas.
- Follow all safety protocols and report any incidents, unsafe conditions, damaged materials, or quality concerns immediately.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by helping identify better ways to improve safety, quality, workflow, and efficiency.
