Facilities Services Division provides quality customer service by maintaining a safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing environment in which students, faculty, and staff can function and accomplish their educational objectives and by supporting a patient care culture that continuously improves. Facilities Services' responsibilities include Interior and Exterior Facilities Support, Construction, Space Management, and Environmental Services.

Job Summary

Inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected. Uses a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment. Has at least two years of journeyman level electrical experience. Typically requires an Electrician's license from the state. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.

Responsibilities

The job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs routine and moderately complex maintenance and repairs on all building internal electrical systems, equipment, and controls to include 120V internal building power distribution systems, fluorescent, LED, and specialty lighting systems, service panels, feeders, branch circuits and specialized electrical systems such as lighting controls, generators, emergency and standby power systems, fire alarms, motor controls, air conditioning, heating equipment, fans, and pumps.

  • Troubleshoots, assesses, and diagnose system problems and executes repairs as needed.

  • Performs routine and moderately complex maintenance and repairs on all external building electrical power supply systems and controls, to include building electrical service feeders and associated electrical service panels, breakers, disconnects, and switches.

  • May be required to serve in an on-call status and remain work-ready when scheduled for an on-call period or rotation.

  • Perform all other duties/tasks as required.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or GED from a recognized State or Federal accredited organization and four years experience; Valid driver's license and qualified to operate Augusta University vehicles

Other Required Experience

Experience in installation, repair and operation of a wide array of common electrical and lighting system components.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days: Monday - Friday

Pay Band: 9

Salary Minimum: $23.46/hour

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Driver's License Statement

The Human Resources Division will request a driver's history report for the identified top candidate(s) for this position.
