Summary

Science Akadémeia is a forward-thinking, STEM-based early learning center dedicated to cultivating the next generation of critical thinkers and innovators. We are currently seeking a dedicated After School Care Teacher who is also able to safely transport elementary-aged children from local schools using our school vehicle.
The ideal candidate is a nurturing, dependable professional with a passion for working with children and a strong sense of responsibility. This dual-role position involves:

• Driving the school bus/van to pick up children from nearby elementary schools.
• Providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students during after-care hours.
• Supervising homework, coordinating indoor and outdoor activities, and managing classroom behavior.

Duties

• Driving the school bus/van to pick up children from nearby elementary schools.
• Providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students during after-care hours.
• Supervising homework, coordinating indoor and outdoor activities, and managing classroom behavior.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive safely along assigned routes and maintain punctual pickup schedules.
• Ensure children's safety during transport and after school activities.
• Build positive relationships with students and families.
• Support students in completing homework and engaging in enriching STEM-based play.
• Follow all safety, licensing, and center policies.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Prior experience working with children in a licensed childcare, camp, or educational setting.
• Must pass background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening.
• Reliable, professional, and committed to high standards of safety and care.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Nice To Haves

• Experience driving a school van or small bus (CDL not required ).
• Background in early childhood education, elementary education, or youth programs.
