Landscapers
Job Summary
The Landscaping Technician is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance of residential, commercial, or public landscapes. This role involves performing a variety of outdoor tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, fertilizing, irrigation maintenance, and general landscape upkeep. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular landscape maintenance including mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, and leaf removal.
- Install and maintain plants, sod, trees, and shrubs according to design specifications.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and light machinery safely and efficiently (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers).
- Monitor plant health, identify pest or disease issues, and report or treat as directed.
- Assist with irrigation system installation, repairs, and scheduling adjustments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, vehicles, and worksites.
- Follow safety guidelines and company policies at all times.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate progress or issues with supervisors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- 1–2 years of experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or related field (or willingness to learn).
- Knowledge of plant care, soil conditions, and landscape maintenance techniques.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (required for company vehicle use).
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with sod, irrigation systems and basic landscape construction.
- Knowledge of fertilizers, pesticides, and environmentally responsible maintenance practices.
- Basic troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skills.
Work Environment
This position involves outdoor work in all weather conditions and may require early mornings or occasional weekends depending on the season and client needs.
