This facility operates comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical services requiring specialized coverage following the recent departure of an employed cardiovascular surgeon. The medical center maintains advanced surgical capabilities with robust Mitral clip and TAVR programs along with thoracic and aortic repair services. The hospital utilizes EPIC EMR systems and provides dedicated support through hospital-based RNs and Physician Assistants to ensure quality cardiothoracic surgical care delivery.

Georgia offers diverse attractions ranging from natural landmarks to cultural destinations. Visitors can explore the renowned Georgia Aquarium, tour the Savannah Historic District, and experience outdoor activities such as hiking at Amicalola Falls State Park and tubing down the Chattahoochee River. The state features wineries including Chateau Elan and Wolf Mountain Vineyards, along with recreational areas like Vogel State Park and Brasstown Bald Mountain for nature enthusiasts.

The cardiothoracic surgeon will provide comprehensive 24-hour call coverage with required consults and rounding responsibilities. The clinician will work 7am to 7am shifts managing inpatient cardiothoracic surgery cases with robust Mitral clip and TAVR programs, thoracic and aortic repair procedures. The position requires board certification in cardiothoracic surgery with continuous availability for emergency cases using the EPIC EMR system. The facility requires at least 20 days of coverage per month to support the cardiothoracic surgery service line. UpdateClinic would occur during their call shift, again for someone with a more consistent availability. We are looking for someone willing to commit to 10+ days a month, usually one day a week in the clinic from 9 AM to 3 PM. Surgeon would be familiar with structural heart procedures such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) & Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair (MitraClip), Aortic Valve Repair, or Replacement.
