Machine Assembler
We are seeking a mechanically inclined and precision-driven Machine Assembler to join our client's production team in Riverhead, NY. This role is perfect for a "gearhead" or someone who loves taking things apart and putting them back together—if you can build a lawnmower or an engine from scratch, we want to talk to you. You will be responsible for the full-cycle assembly of complex machinery, ensuring every bolt and component is perfectly aligned to spec.
salary: $18 - $20 per hourshift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
education: High School Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
- Full Machine Build: Assemble complex mechanical systems from the ground up, ensuring structural integrity and functional performance.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret detailed engineering blueprints and technical schematics to guide the assembly process.
- Precision Measurement: Use calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to verify that all components meet exact tolerances.
- Quality Assurance: Perform self-inspections to ensure all sub-assemblies are correct before moving to the next stage of production.
- Mechanical Mastery: Proven experience in mechanical assembly (automotive, small engine, or industrial machinery). You must be comfortable working with gears, motors, and drive systems.
- Advanced Math Skills: You must be highly proficient with fractions, decimals, and precise measurements . Accuracy is non-negotiable.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to visualize 3D builds from 2D technical drawings.
- Tool Requirements: Must possess your own professional-grade tool set or be willing to invest in one upon hire.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and handle the physical demands of large-scale machine assembly.
