Contractor Diesel Mechanic
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team when needed to maintain our 3 Diesel Isuzu N-Series Trucks. We have an Isuzu Computer on-site to use along with Pro accounts at O'Rileys, AutoZone, and NAPA. The ideal candidate will have extensive mechanical knowledge and experience in diesel engine repair, as well as a strong understanding of automotive repair and maintenance. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in diesel engines and related systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct brake repairs, including air brake systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Service tires, including installation, rotation, and balancing.
- Operate industrial equipment such as cranes and forklifts safely during repair processes.
- Perform heavy lifting as required to access components for repair or replacement.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role with strong mechanical knowledge.
- Proficiency in automotive repair techniques, specifically related to diesel engines.
- Experience with brake repair systems, particularly air brakes.
- Familiarity with IDSS Computers
- Ability to perform tire service tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during work shifts.
- A valid driver's license may be required depending on the specific job duties.
