Line Design Engineer,

The Senior Line Design Engineer leads the design and construction of high-voltage transmission lines (HVTL) using advanced engineering principles and software. This role ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective transmission line projects through collaboration and oversight of outsourced engineering services.

Location: Forest Park, Georgia, United States,

Responsibilities:

- Apply engineering processes and design standards to support HVTL projects from concept through construction.
- Prepare and review cost estimates, design options, and construction specifications.
- Provide technical oversight, guidance, and quality assurance reviews for contractor-developed designs and construction packages.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, NESC, and standards.
- Utilize software tools to perform transmission line modeling and analysis.
- Support design standard development and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure design alignment.
- Assist with emergency restoration of failed transmission line equipment.
- Estimate material and resource needs for projects and manage the transmission of complete construction packages.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- 10+ years of experience in HVTL design and engineering.
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering or PE license.
- Proficient in PLS-CADD and related line design software.
- Deep understanding of transmission design practices, processes, and standards (NESC).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with independent decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated work ethic, initiative, and commitment to safety and quality.
