Call Center BBQ Grill Technician

Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a technically inclined and customer-focused Call Center BBQ Grill Technician in Atlanta, Georgia. In this hands-on and engaging role, you will be responsible for helping customers enjoy their grilling experience, providing technical support, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and assisting with grill maintenance. In a Call Center BBQ Grill Technician job, you’ll be responsible for:

• Providing technical support and troubleshooting for BBQ grill products via phone, email, and video (approximately 80% phone-based).
• Performing hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance on grills (about 10% of your time).
• Disassembling and reassembling grills to diagnose and fix problems.
• Lubricating and maintaining grill components to ensure optimal performance.
• Assisting customers in diagnosing and resolving issues with ignition, temperature control, propane, and other grill systems.
• Guiding customers on proper assembly, maintenance, and safe use of grills.
• Processing product returns, exchanges, and warranty claims.
• Collaborating with the warehouse team to verify parts availability and shipping timelines.
• Documenting customer interactions and technical issues in the CRM system.
• Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by providing professional, timely, and effective service.

What you’ll need:

• Strong customer service experience, particularly in a call center environment (must!).
• Technically inclined with mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
• Comfort working with grills or mechanical equipment, including disassembly and reassembly.
• Ability to explain complex technical information in a simple and clear manner.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a lube tech, appliance repair, or in a similar mechanical/technical field.
• Familiarity with popular BBQ grill brands (e.g., Weber, Traeger, Char-Broil).
• Certification in appliance repair or a related field is a plus.
