Jr. Accountant

IS has an immediate need for a Jr. Accountant located in Lawrenceville, GA. The position is a key role working with the executive staff of the business. Business operating hours: M-F 8:00am – 5:00pm. The Junior Accountant will provide vital support to the senior accounting team to streamline financial processes. This role involves maintaining general ledgers, processing transactions, and ensuring data accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). It is an ideal position for a recent graduate or early-career professional seeking to build a foundation in financial management.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have working experience performing office duties in a professional environment. Potential candidates will have the qualifications below:

• Education : Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
• Experience : 0–2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role; internships are often highly valued.
• Technical Skills :
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, or Oracle.
• Soft Skills : Meticulous attention to detail, strong mathematical aptitude, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Must be motivated and willing to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Recordkeeping : Record daily transactions, post journal entries, and maintain up-to-date ledgers.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable : Process vendor invoices, issue client billings, and follow up on overdue payments to ensure healthy cash flow.
• Reconciliations : Perform regular bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Financial Reporting : Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
• Month-End/Year-End Close : Support senior staff during the closing process by preparing accruals, prepayments, and necessary adjustments.
• Audit & Compliance : Assist with internal and external audits by gathering requested documentation and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
