Credit Union Branch Manager
Overview
The Branch Manager will direct and supervise the staff and day-to-day operations in the assigned branch location, ensuring delivery of quality service and achievement of sales or productivity goals.
Responsibilities
Establishes and maintains relationships with credit union members, business members, and staff to make a positive difference in their lives.
Interviews members to determine their needs and which credit union products & services are right for them.
Assists potential borrowers with completion of initial loan applications. Reviews submitted applications for accuracy and completion, requesting additional information or detail as needed.
Verifies loan information and financial history provided, acquires borrowers' credit reports from major credit reporting bureau(s), and submits consumer loan applications to loan department.
Directs, develops, and motivates branch personnel. Always leads by example. Administers performance evaluations and recommends appropriate personnel actions.
Maintains communications with Senior Management. Prepares and submits standard reports on branch performance.
Monitors branch operating results relative to established objectives and ensures that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
Oversees all transactions and activities that are conducted at assigned branch.
Ensures that staff members are adhering to Credit Union rules, regulations, and procedures.
Collaborates with Senior Management to set performance standards. Standards may be based on financial and operational goals and required compliance with internal, local, state, and federal policies, procedures, and regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act.
Identifies training needs and opportunities for staff. Develops and implements a plan for meeting those needs.
Conducts regular staff meetings to ensure that goals and objectives are clearly communicated with branch staff. Provides guidance and leadership to enable staff to meet these goals and objectives.
Assist in any areas as directed by Management.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience - Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least three to five years of prior management experience required.
· Prior management in the branch banking environment highly preferred.
· Prior new accounts, lending, and consumer credit experience preferred.
Language Skills - Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, members, staff, vendors, etc.
Mathematical Skills - Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. This role requires an above-average knowledge of Microsoft Office.
