Job Title: 2nd Shift Production Supervisor
Location: Hogansville, GA
Compensation: $60,000 per year
Shift Schedule: 2nd Shift | 5:30 PM – 4:00 AM (subject to change based on production needs)
Job Summary
The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of production team members during the second shift. This role ensures that all production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards. The supervisor leads, trains, and motivates employees to achieve departmental objectives while maintaining a strong culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers to meet daily production schedules and quality targets.
- Plan and assign work, establish priorities, and adjust schedules as necessary to meet production demands.
- Monitor operations to ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Inspect materials, products, and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions and take corrective action when needed.
- Enforce safety and housekeeping standards, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company requirements.
- Train and develop employees in production methods, equipment operation, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to resolve equipment or process issues.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, scrap, downtime, and attendance.
- Evaluate employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and assist with disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Promote and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Communicate effectively between shifts and with management to ensure smooth operations and accurate information flow.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work instructions, and technical documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic manufacturing software systems.
- Willingness to work 2nd shift and weekends or overtime as needed.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
