Fiber Technician

Description

The Fiber Technician is responsible for all aspects of Fiber including but not limited to installing, terminating, testing and splicing. Cabling & Termination Skills: Must possess the ability to: • Install LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA and MPO/MTP connectors, for single-mode fiber • Terminate simplex & duplex jumper cord • Terminate & breakout outside plant (single strand / single mode no Multimode) fiber (e.g. Corning/Commscope) • Terminate & breakout outside plant • Terminate outdoor single-mode fiber • Ability to understand and or experience with Splice Matrix * Experience testing fiber using Fluke Tester • Basic copper termination skills • Fully complete all IES paperwork accurately and on time specifically: timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, Job Blog, tool transfers and others as required

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Test using an OTDR, Fluke DTX 1800 • Troubleshoot using an OTDR to identify and correct problems end to end, and Network wide • Provide all documentation required • Label in accordance with IES Standards Splicing: Must have the ability to: • Perform mechanical splicing with all types of fiber cable • Perform fusion splicing with all types of fiber cable • Perform building entrance splices, maintenance space, and direct buried splices

This is a Contract position based out of Fayetteville, GA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Fayetteville,GA.
