Lead Piping Designer (Riceboro)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Piping Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Aveva E3D/PDMS, AutoCAD, and SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) design software. This role will lead piping design efforts on complex industrial and energy projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee piping design teams in the development of 3D models and 2D deliverables for large-scale industrial or energy projects.
- Manage the design and layout of piping systems in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Develop and review piping isometrics, general arrangement drawings, support details, and material take-offs.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical) to ensure effective project execution.
- Perform clash detection and resolve interface issues using SmartPlant 3D and/or Aveva E3D.
- Ensure design quality and compliance through thorough checking and verification of drawings and models.
- Mentor junior designers and provide guidance on design best practices and software usage.
- Assist in scheduling, planning, and estimating design activities and resources for projects.
- Support field activities such as site surveys, walkdowns, and construction support, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of piping design experience in industrial sectors such as oil & gas, chemical, power, or petrochemical.
- Proficient in Aveva E3D or PDMS, AutoCAD, and SmartPlant 3D (SP3D).
- Strong understanding of piping codes, standards (ASME, API), and engineering practices.
- Experience with piping materials, valves, supports, and insulation specifications.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage design teams to meet project deadlines.
