Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Position is on a high-acuity Surgery/Trauma floor (Unit 6B) within an inner-city Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes post-surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
• Patient ratio is 5:1 with support from nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary on nights
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
• 4 weekend shifts per month are required
• Block scheduling is not available — candidates must be flexible with shift assignments
• Epic EMR is used and experience is required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (Georgia or Compact) currently in hand
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital settings required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
• Demonstrated ability to manage critical, fast-paced, and complex trauma cases
• Epic EMR proficiency required

Additional Information

• Nurse handoff is conducted between the ED nurse and the admitting unit at time of patient transfer
• No RTO (time-off requests) will be approved for this assignment
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
