Director, Solution Delivery

As a Director of Solution Delivery, you will take ownership of delivery outcomes for an executive-level product and engineering team responsible for shaping and delivering investments. The team will define problems to solve and have total ownership of delivering solutions, with a laser focus on enabling business outcomes and sustained high performance.
Responsibilities- Drive governance that ensures roadmap alignment, prioritization and trade-offs with business partners.
- Establish and maintain operations that support a continuous planning and rolling forecast cycle, balancing delivery flexibility with sustainable predictability through risk management and agile program management practices.
- Coach VP, AVP, and Director-level team members to collaboratively communicate, identify true root cause of issues, and use business priorities to drive organizational focus.
- Facilitate the creation and delivery of investments by the delivery stream.
- Maintain investment hygiene and ensure radiated information is reliable, meaningful, and readable.
- Drive consistent use of metrics to assess risks to delivery and inform prioritization and decision making.
- Assess, own and communicate risks and dependencies across delivery streams and portfolios; remove impediments to complete work.
- Identify and implement solutions that address root causes or clearly articulate trade-offs when only symptoms are addressed.
- Optimize delivery through systemic process improvements and drive adoption across the organization using change management tactics.
- Evolve delivery stream adaptability through value delivery shaping and utilization of an information architecture that enables scaled agility.
- Staff and develop the Release Train Engineer and Scrum Master roles, ensuring they own outcomes at their levels.
- Manage Release Train Engineer and Scrum Master performance, ensuring alignment with the Solution Delivery vision and objectives; address performance issues promptly and place employees in the right roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Psychology (with IT work experience) and 10 years in a related field; alternative combinations (e.g., master's with 8 years, Ph.D. with 5 years, or 14 years) are acceptable.
- 10+ years of professional experience in agile delivery.
- 3+ years managing and leading employees and complex teams (direct people management).
- 5+ years leading product delivery teams or equivalent program/project management on large complex technical programs.
- 5+ years driving systemic continuous improvement with software development teams using Scrum or Kanban.
- Mastery of the SDLC and Agile frameworks, with demonstrated positive outcomes from Agile implementations.
- Proven ability to resolve inter-team conflicts and build relationships in a complex team environment.
- Mastery of industry-standard information radiators (experience with Rally; or JIRA/TFS).
- Experience in a scaled Agile environment.
- Advanced skills writing queries and interpreting data (Excel or Tableau skills a plus).
- Must be comfortable with up to 25% travel.
- Must live within commutable distance to the office and work in a weekly hybrid setting.
USD 144,900.00 - 241,500.00 per year. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
