WestWood Healthcare and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house therapy team! Full-Time position available, with Part-Time and PRN options also offered!
The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities and enhance their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities- Assist licensed Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic activities, exercises, and ADL training.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in compliance with facility policies.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
- Proficiency in providing patient care with a focus on rehabilitation and functional independence.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
