As we continue to expand our SCADA and Instrumentation & Controls capabilities across the Southeast, we are seeking a senior technical leader to provide expertise in electrical systems, controls, and automation for some of the region's most complex water and wastewater projects. This role offers the opportunity to influence project strategy, support business growth, and serve as a trusted advisor to both clients and project teams.
The Design Manager, Electrical, I&C & SCADA will play a critical role in supporting project pursuits, leading technical delivery, and guiding the development of modern control and automation solutions for water and wastewater facilities. Working closely with Jacobs' SCADA and Water teams, this individual will provide leadership in system planning, design, and implementation while fostering strong client relationships and ensuring successful project execution. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in electrical and control systems, a passion for mentoring teams, and a commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients and communities.
Here's what you'll do
- Support SCADA and I&C Pursuits – lead and/or support I&C design and SCADA implementation opportunities in the Water throughout the Southeast U.S. Lead the development of scopes of work and pricing for these pursuits.
- Electrical and I&C Consulting – provide leadership and guidance to design teams under the Electrical and I&C disciplines, ensuring compliance with codes, standards and client objectives.
- SCADA Consulting – design SCADA systems, both new and upgraded. Determine field instrumentation requirements and make specific equipment selections. Determine panel hardware requirements and consult on the subsequent control panel design. Assist in the design and scoping of communication networks – both in-plant and remote telemetry.
- Client Relationship Management – build and maintain executive-level relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor for I&C and SCADA.
- Project Management – manage and coordinate all phases of project and design planning, execution and closeout in alignment with Jacobs’ project delivery process. Ensure projects meet scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements while maintaining client satisfaction. Prepare project forecasts, progress reports and risk assessments for internal and client review.
Here's what you'll need
- 15+ years in the Water/Wastewater .
- 15+ years in the Instrumentation & Controls industry with a focus on SCADA systems.
- 15+ years of experience with medium voltage systems, drives and MCCs.
- Minimum ISA-certified control system technician Level 1.
- Electrical contractor license or ability to obtain within one (1) year in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina.

The base salary range for this position is $150,000.00 to $175,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
