Step into an essential support role providing care and guidance for students within an engaging school environment. This onsite contract position runs from August 3, 2026, through May 26, 2027, offering 37.5 hours per week assisting young learners as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Your expertise will help ensure the well-being of children requiring specialized medical attention during their school day.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Georgia
- Demonstrated experience in pediatric and/or school nursing
- Proficiency in managing tracheostomy care, feeding tubes, and wheelchair assistance
- Thorough understanding of safe medication administration and emergency response protocols in a school setting
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents
- Willingness to participate in bus riding as needed for student safety and care
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily nursing care for a student with complex medical needs, including trach and feed tube management
- Monitor student health, administer medications, and document care provided
- Accompany and assist students using a wheelchair to ensure safe transportation on the school bus
- Serve as a reliable resource for teachers and staff regarding student health and emergency care procedures
- Support overall student well-being and inclusion within the school environment
