• Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract (Locum Tenens)
• Location: Austin, TX 78704
• Unit: PACU (Post Anesthesia Recovery Unit)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
• Shift: 12-Hour Days (9:00 AM – 9:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Call Requirement: Yes (details provided by manager)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1460-$1500

PACU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
• At least 1 year of recent PACU or critical care nursing experience
• Proficient in titrating drips, ventilator management, and care for intubated patients
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP; Respiratory Therapy support available
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong organizational, teamwork, and communication skills
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Prior PACU Phase 1 experience at a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center preferred

PACU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver Phase 1 and Phase 2 PACU recovery care, including frequent vital sign monitoring and pain management
• Administer medications as ordered by anesthesia providers
• Provide discharge education and ensure safe patient discharges
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Meditech EMR
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and dress code (navy or OR scrubs)
• Participate in call rotation as required
