POSITION OVERVIEW

This role is responsible for the general accounting processes and procedures, including preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Month-end close (preparation of journal entries; review P&L statements for accuracy)


• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies


• Ability to prepare accruals based on actual operational data, such as commissions, product rebates, etc.


• Posting of payroll entries


• Prepare bank reconciliations and clear reconciling items in a timely manner


• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations monthly and clear any issues resulting from them


• Review Accounts Payable postings and record reclasses as needed

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• BS Degree in Accounting or related field required


• 2-4 years of accounting experience in a mid-sized company; preferably manufacturing/ distribution


• Excellent organization, analytical and communication skills


• Fluent in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel


• Ability to multi-task and work within specified timeframes


• Ability to work in a fast paced, self-directed environment


• Willingness to contribute new ideas and feedback related to potential areas for improvements


• Experience with Syspro is a plus
