Learn more about CPC's culture and Great Place to Work Certification by clocking on the link below: Working at Center for Primary Care | Great Place To Work X-Ray Tech Key Responsibilities: Essential Functions Reporting to the Imaging Manager, the Nuclear Medicine Tech willprovide quality patient care within the medical imaging department. Performs a wide variety of diagnostic examinations; use proper radiation protection and precautions, prepares and operates radiographic equipment; positions patient to obtain appropriate radiographic exposures; operates film processing equipment; maintains computerized records, files and reports. Evaluates x-ray imaging to assure established quality control Assists with development of new x-ray procedures Follows physician's instruction, prepares and operates x-ray equipment, positions patients correctly and effectively records the requested diagnostic images. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, physics, mathematics, as well as radiology technology at a level normally acquired through completion of an associate's degree in Radiology Technology. Moderate amount of physical activity working with the equipment and maneuvering patients. Interviews patient to confirm/obtain history, assesses patient history versus ordered scan. Maintain efficient operation of all equipment in order to preserve its effectiveness; performs quality control checks on equipment and maintains appropriate records. Preventively maintains, troubleshoots malfunctions and reports equipment failure. Maintains imaging room in a neat and orderly manner, ensuring discarded materials are disposed of in appropriate waste containers according to protocol. Demonstrates good judgement in handling situations not covered by written or verbal instruction; provides care during emergencies utilizing CPR. Performs all front desk duties: answers telephone by identifying practice and person answering, schedules appointments according to office procedure and patient's need, acquires all necessary information from patients at check-in. Provides for patient's physical safety and well-being while he/she is under the technologist's care. Observes all organizational and diagnostic policies and procedures Meets productivity norms established by the imaging department Maintains equipment, supplies and work area in accordance with department guidelines Complies with all continuing education requirements Knows and observes policies set by OSHA Adheres to infection control guidelines Promotes positive public relations to patients, visitors, families, physicians, and others. Exhibits characteristics consistent with CPC values for quality, respect, teamwork, and pride Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Adheres to all HIPAA guidelines. Physical appearance and conduct is consistent with acceptable professional ethics and CPC standards Communicates effectively by telephone and to the patient at his/her level of understanding Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her supervisor All essential functions must be performed. Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology. Licensure/Certification: Must have completed a Radiology Tech program. Must have or obtain CPR certification within 6 months. Experience: Prior experience using computer software. Prior customer service experience preferred. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records Ability to type Ability to identify emergent medical situations Demonstrate positive customer service skills Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment, multi-tasking Attention to detail Additional Job Details: Work Setting: Well-lit medical office environment Job Type: PRN Schedule: Weekdays, as needed. Compensation: Market competitive base pay, commensurate with education and experience.
