Physical Therapist
A 558-bed acute care hospital in Atlantis is seeking a Physical Therapist to join its rehabilitation team. This facility is recognized as a Joint Commission–certified Primary Stroke Center and offers a wide range of specialty services including cardiovascular care, neurosciences, robotic surgery, orthopedics, spine care, bariatrics, behavioral health, and obstetrics. It also holds accreditation as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program and includes certified advanced cardiac and device programs.
Position Overview
The Physical Therapist is responsible for managing a full patient caseload and delivering evidence-based rehabilitation services in collaboration with physicians and the broader care team. This role focuses on improving functional outcomes, restoring mobility, and supporting patients through individualized treatment plans tailored to their recovery goals.
The PT evaluates patients, develops treatment strategies, provides hands-on therapeutic interventions, and ensures continuity of care through education and coordination with patients, families, and caregivers.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to assess functional, rehabilitative, and mobility needs
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the care team
• Provide skilled therapeutic interventions using evidence-based techniques
• Monitor and document patient progress toward functional goals
• Instruct patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and mobility strategies
• Educate on use of assistive devices, prosthetics, and home exercise programs
• Coordinate caseload priorities and assist with workflow and assignment coordination
• Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
• Ensure compliance with professional standards, ethics, and state regulations
Qualifications
• Current Physical Therapist license in the state of Florida required
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
• New graduates welcome, but must hold active Florida PT license at time of hire
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and patient engagement skills
