STAFF ACCOUNTANT

This Staff Accountant role will work closely with senior accounting leadership while playing a hands-on role in daily accounting operations, revenue tracking, and monthly close activities. Responsibilities will include:

• Contribute to month-end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist in preparing schedules and documentation for audits and tax filings
• Support recurring accruals and expense allocations to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Help strengthen and maintain accounting procedures and documentation
• Review and reconcile daily cash activity across multiple accounts
• Prepare and post journal entries related to cash, internal allocations, and routine transactions
• Handle deposits and investigate discrepancies or unidentified activity
• Record and validate incoming funds from various sources (including electronic and investment-related activity)
• Maintain accuracy across subledger and general ledger activity
• Ensure proper handling and compliance for more complex contributions (e.g., securities or restricted funds)
• Generate invoices and monitor collections activity
• Review outstanding balances and assist with follow-up efforts

The right candidate for this Staff Accountant role will have:

• 3 years of accounting experience in a mid-size to large organization
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Hands-on experience with general ledger, cash activity, AR/AP, and reconciliations
• Ability to research issues, investigate discrepancies, and follow transactions through to resolution
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working across accounting systems
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proactive mindset with a willingness to dig in and problem-solve
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Clear communicator with a service-oriented approach
• Stability in work history with demonstrated commitment in prior roles
