Project Coordinator
Cosmo Cabinets is a fast-growing, U.S.-based manufacturer of modern, full-access frameless and framed kitchen and bath cabinets and countertops serving the multifamily, build-to-rent, and commercial housing markets across the Sun Belt and beyond. We partner directly with leading general contractors, developers, and owners to deliver true turnkey cabinet and countertop packages—from design and engineering through production, logistics, and installation—on large-scale projects where schedule, accuracy, and coordination are critical.
Our culture is hands-on, collaborative, and rooted in the realities of construction and building materials, not IT or software, and we are specifically seeking candidates who understand construction job sites, shop drawings, and product lead times. Role Summary
The Project Coordinator – Multifamily is responsible for managing cabinet and countertop projects from post-sale handoff through installation readiness, ensuring all technical, logistical, and customer requirements are executed accurately and on schedule. Acting as the operational hub between Sales, Design, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Logistics, and Field/Installation teams. This role focuses heavily on submittals, shop drawings, selections, field coordination, and schedule adherence for large multifamily jobs. You will play a key role in minimizing errors, protecting margins, and driving efficient project flow from approval to install. Important: This is a project coordination role for construction and building materials. We are not seeking candidates from IT/software project management backgrounds and will prioritize applicants with direct experience in building materials, construction, or cabinets/countertops. Key Responsibilities
- Own projects from internal turnover through installation readiness for multifamily cabinet and countertop packages.
- Review turnover packages (plans, specs, selections, bid notes) and validate scope, inclusions/exclusions, and any gaps or discrepancies.
- Set up and manage projects in project management systems (e.g., Monday.com) with clear tracking and milestones.
- Coordinate creation and review of cabinet shop drawings with Design, ensuring accurate layouts, dimensions, finishes, hardware, and field conditions.
- Manage submittals to general contractors/clients, track approvals, and secure formal sign-off before releasing to production.
- Build and maintain project schedules from submittals to approvals, production, delivery, and installation; communicate changes proactively to all stakeholders.
- Coordinate field handoff, ensuring field teams have complete shop drawings, countertop drawings, and accurate delivery/installation dates.
- Prepare complete job packets for install crews and support resolution of field issues, punch, and reorders.
- Capture and process change orders in alignment with contract terms, helping protect project margins.
- Maintain organized project documentation through closeout for internal and client records.
- 3–5+ years of experience in multifamily construction, cabinetry, countertops, or closely related building materials (e.g., millwork, casework, interior finishes).
- Strong understanding of shop drawings and construction sequencing for multifamily or similar projects.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a production-driven environment.
- Experience working with general contractors, project managers, and field superintendents on active construction projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management tools (e.g., Monday.com or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and cabinet plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional, solutions-oriented approach.
- Direct experience working for a cabinet or countertop manufacturer or installer in a production environment.
- Familiarity with multifamily construction schedules, phasing, and unit/building turnovers.
- Experience supporting or coordinating field measurements, deliveries, and installations for interior finish products.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Opportunity to work in a high People Culture company based on Cosmo CARES – Communicate, Accountable, Reliable, Excellence, Safety.
- Collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where operations, design, and field teams work closely together to deliver complete turnkey solutions.
- Growing company with modern manufacturing, technology-enabled workflows, and room to advance your career in project and operations.
- Competitive compensation, with benefits and the stability of an established B2B manufacturing brand.
