Market Data Operations Analyst I
Job Purpose
The Market Data Operations group is responsible for the end-to-end management of the Data Control lifecycle, encompassing all phases—from Customer Master Data Management to the definition, implementation, and administration of third-party market data content. This includes the creation and maintenance of customer master metadata, the specification of third-party service requirements, service content creation, client licensing, vendor reporting and invoicing, and overall market data expense management. Our remit:
- To provide a value-add service across ICE Data Services’ multiple business lines.
- To establish a proactive, forward-facing, service-oriented group with a clear understanding of the value of the corporate strategic assets (“the data”) of which we are in effect the custodians.
- To implement a series of clearly defined best practices across all business lines and all product lines to support our global business in a timely, efficient & compliant way.
- To implement robust processes to support the sales cycle and the client on-boarding process while adhering to our core principles of source compliance & consistency.
The mandate of the Market Data Operations group is to provide a first-in-class management service with respect to the administration, provisioning, reporting, and remittance of payment on behalf of our clients in compliance with our source obligations.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Market Data Operations Analyst I to support our dynamic Market Data Operations team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in market data operations, financial data services and client support. The analyst will play a key role in managing client entitlements, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining data governance standards across supported systems and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with both new and existing clients to facilitate and streamline the market data entitlement onboarding process.
- Coordinate third-party source approvals and ensure compliance with vendor policies.
- Maintain accurate records of client entitlements and approvals.
- Partner with Sales and Account Management teams to provide market data guidance to a diverse business clientele.
- Advise on market data pricing models, licensing obligations and non-standard product reviews.
- Assist in interpreting complex data usage scenarios and recommending compliant solutions.
- Monitor and interpret market data source policy changes from exchanges and vendors.
- Assess the impact of policy updates on existing client entitlements and take appropriate action.
- Communicate policy changes effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain proprietary and third-party source rules within internal databases and entitlement systems.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across entitlement platforms.
- Support audits and compliance reviews by providing documentation and system insights.
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred (or equivalent industry experience in lieu of a college degree)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- A proactive nature and approach to learning, problem identification and problem resolution
- The ability to think, and work, both independently and within a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (incl. Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft excel)
- Experience with entitlement systems or databases is beneficial.
- Familiarity with market data vendors and licensing models (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE Data Services) is a plus.
- Prior internship or work experience in financial services, client operations or data governance is a plus.
