The General Manager manages all aspects of the facility’s operations, including profit and

loss ownership, resource management, and day-to-day details to exceed environmental,

service, and product expectations. The GM recruits, develops, and retains Management staff

for all internal concepts (Teppanyaki, Washoku, Sushi, etc.), oversees the delivery of events

and hospitality offerings, and holds responsibility for all aspects of health, safety, and security.

The GM is an entrepreneurial and collaborative leader focused on driving sales, controlling

costs, and delivering best-in-class guest experiences.

Core Responsibilities:

I. Financial Oversight & Control

● P&L Ownership: Review financial statements, sales reports, and performance data to

measure productivity, control costs, and identify areas for improvement.

● Budget Management: Monitor budgets and payroll records; review financial

transactions to ensure that expenditures are authorized and within budget.

● Pricing & Revenue: Record item sales to determine profitability and review

menus/recipes to assign optimal pricing.

● Cash Management: Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and

Reconciliation Procedures:

● Procurement: Order and purchase equipment and supplies when necessary, and

maintain accurate inventory records for food, beverage, and equipment.

II. Leadership & Team Development

● Recruit, develop, and retain Management staff across all concepts.

● Organize and direct worker training programs; resolve personnel problems, make

hiring/termination decisions, and evaluate manager and employee performances.

● Continually strive to develop staff in all areas of managerial and professional

development.

● Administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for violating company policies.

● Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service.

III. Operational Compliance & Quality

● Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Nakato Japanese

Restaurant.

● Ensure that all restaurant policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and

training programs are followed.

● Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation, serving,

and building maintenance.

● Ensure that all products are received in the correct count and condition per receiving

policies.

● Review work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service,

performance, or safety.

IV. Guest Relations & Event Management

● Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations.

● Monitor employee and guest activities to ensure liquor regulations are obeyed.

● Schedule use of facilities or catering services for events and negotiate arrangement

details with clients.

● Support restaurant marketing, advertising, and promotional activities and campaigns.

● Preparation: Estimate consumption for food, liquor, wine, and other beverages to

anticipate purchasing needs.

Qualifications & Prerequisites:

● Experience: Minimum five (5) years of relevant restaurant experience and

demonstrated passion for the hospitality industry.

● Cultural Awareness: Understands the Japanese culture and is willing to learn the

language.

● Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

● Technical Skills: Proficient with Point-of-Sale terminals (Toast POS), scheduling,

inventory management, and office suite software (Microsoft Office, G Suite).

● Work Style: Strong decision-making, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to work

well under pressure.

● Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining

to health, safety, and labor.
