Analytics Engineer

Business Warehouse (BW) Engineer: with strong expertise in SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, and Data Integration to support enterprise-level analytics and data architecture initiatives.

The ideal candidate will design, develop, and optimize data models, enhance system performance, and support the migration from BW on HANA to SAP Datasphere.

Mandatory Requirements

Experience & Technical Skills

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience delivering: Data architecture, data engineering, and orchestration solutions on SAP BW on HANA.
• Development deliverables utilizing ABAP programming.
• BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation) reports and datasets for analytics and downstream reporting.
• HANA Calculated Views designed for use with Power BI.
• Hands-on experience with HANA views in SAP BW modules such as: CCS (Customer Care and Billing), Work Management, Supply Chain, Finance.
• Proven ability to improve system performance and maintainability by reducing technical debt and optimizing codebase.
• Experience supporting migration initiatives from BW on HANA to SAP Datasphere.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in: Utilizing the ODP (Operational Data Provisioning) framework for efficient and reliable data loading.
• Configuring and managing SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT) for real-time data replication.
• Designing and developing embedded analytics reports in SAP Fiori S/4HANA, supporting real-time business decisions.
• Creating and optimizing S/4HANA CDS (Core Data Services) views for analytics and real-time data consumption.

Desirable Qualifications

• Expertise in implementing security and authorization controls for CDS views and embedded analytics, ensuring compliance with data governance policies.
• Strong proficiency in S/4HANA CDS view optimization for analytics and real-time reporting.
• Familiarity with SAP Datasphere for comprehensive data modeling and cross-landscape management.
• Ability to provide architecture and process recommendations that enhance SMUD's data landscape leveraging SAP S/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, Datasphere, and Databricks.
• Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM delivery environment.
• Experience building Power BI visualizations integrated with HANA calculated views.
