Position Purpose
The Line Cook prepares and cooks food, maintains cleanliness, and ensures compliance with food safety regulations. Even though you may not contact guests directly, your responsibilities are critical to the Restaurant’s success. At the Old Savannah Distillery (OSD), you will prepare, season, and cook dishes to the standards of the OSD and Kitchen Manager.

REQUIREMENTS
Essential Functions
- Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgement and experience.
- Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgement using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Receiving and ordering products.
- Making prep recipes and menu products to spec.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work independently over long periods of time and in groups within the scope of established rules and regulations.
- Ability to display a positive, energetic, and outwardly friendly attitude towards guests and coworkers.
- Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading, and writing.
- Comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas.
- Demonstrate a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A food handling certification program is required to be completed before working in the kitchen.
Other Requirements
- Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing.
- Have a passion for helping people and making their Savannah experience a memorable one.
- Maintain necessary mandated food and drink certifications.
