JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to operate closed circuit televising technology and equipment to inspect water utility distribution and collection systems in order to identify needed repairs and make recommendations regarding system maintenance, repair, and construction needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Operates and maintains the closed-circuit televising technology (CCTV) and
- Operates onboard computers and related
- Monitors flow in sewer manholes; reports findings to Crew
- Prepares inspection reports based upon inspection
- Operates CCTV vehicle and ATV based remote televising
- Maintains a database that is linked to the CCWA GIS
- Processes a variety of documentation associated with Department/Division operations within designated timeframes and per established procedures.
- Operates or uses various equipment, power tools, hand tools, and supplies in order to complete work assignments; operates and maintains closed-circuit camera and related equipment, winch, power generator, and other tools and equipment.
- Keeps all equipment clean, organized, operable, and properly set-
- Keeps work area safe for work
- Performs other assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
- High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by one year of experience in sewer construction, maintenance, or inspection; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s
- Must obtain and maintain Pipeline Assessment Certification (PACP) within 6 months of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as heavy work involving lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 If someone can do heavy work, then he or she can also do medium, light, and sedentary work.
- Tasks involve some combination of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and prolonged standing and involve some pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of heavy weight. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature, noise extremes, confined spaces, machinery, vibrations, traffic hazards, toxic agents, animal/wildlife attacks, animal/human bites, disease, pathogenic substances, or rude/irate customers.
