Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position specializing in cardiac care, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU/IMCU experience in a similarly sized, high-volume facility.
Details
- 28-bed PCU/IMCU unit within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
- Cardiac patient population including STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiac thoracic surgery (CTS), and chest pain (C/P) cases
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4
- Cardiac drip management includes Milrinone, Dobutamine, and Pressors
- Travelers may also be assigned to lower-acuity telemetry beds within the same unit
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license — GA license or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU or IMCU experience in a similarly sized facility required
- Proven experience in high-pressure, high-volume trauma environments with diverse and severe cases required
- Experience managing critical cardiac patients and cardiac drip administration required
Additional Information
- Facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
- Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
- Block scheduling is generally not approved
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
