Senior Conflicts Analyst (Atlanta)
TRC’s client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a Senior Conflicts Analyst to join its Conflicts and New Business Intake team. Reporting to the Conflicts Manager, this role serves as a senior resource within the conflicts function, supporting conflicts quality control, complex conflicts analysis, and the firm’s New Business Intake (NBI) process.
This position works closely with Loss Prevention partners, attorneys, and internal teams to identify and evaluate potential conflicts of interest, ensure compliance with applicable Rules of Professional Responsibility, and support the efficient opening of new client matters.
Location
This position is intended to be based in Atlanta, Charlotte, or Raleigh, though highly qualified remote candidates may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct conflict-of-interest searches for new clients, matters, and other business requests using the firm’s conflicts and intake systems
- Review and process New Business Intake (NBI) submissions to open client and matter records and assign client/matter numbers
- Analyze conflict reports and identify potential legal, ethical, or business conflicts
- Communicate findings and escalate potential issues to Loss Prevention partners and firm leadership
- Research corporate entities and relationships to support accurate conflict identification
- Ensure conflicts analysis complies with Rules of Professional Responsibility and internal firm policies
- Document conflict resolutions, waivers, acknowledgments, and related communications
- Perform client due diligence (CDD) research using tools such as LexisNexis, Thomson Reuters, Dun & Bradstreet, S&P, and Bureau van Dijk
- Assist attorneys and internal teams with conflict-related inquiries and intake requests
- Support the Conflicts Desk and assist analysts with complex intake or conflict matters
- Contribute to process improvements, system testing, and implementation of new conflicts or intake technologies
- Assist with lateral hire conflict reviews and other research requests as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2+ years of conflicts analysis, legal intake, or risk/compliance experience within a law firm environment preferred
- Strong understanding of legal conflicts and professional responsibility principles
- Experience working with conflicts or intake databases (experience with Aderant is a plus)
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with attorneys and senior staff
- High level of discretion when handling confidential information
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Juris Doctor (JD) preferred but not required
