Job Title: Lead Man

Reports To: Production Supervisor/Plant Manager

Job Summary:

The Lead Man is responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the production team at a brick manufacturing facility. This role ensures the efficient and safe production of high-quality bricks by managing workflows, monitoring equipment, and guiding team members. The Lead Man acts as a key link between management and production workers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership :
  • Lead, train, and mentor production staff to achieve daily and long-term production goals.
  • Assign tasks and monitor team performance to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met.
  • Promote teamwork and resolve conflicts among employees.
• Production Oversight :
  • Supervise production processes, ensuring adherence to operational guidelines and safety standards.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate timely maintenance or repairs.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of production schedules.
• Quality Control :
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and address potential defects or production issues.
• Safety Compliance :
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures to create a safe working environment.
  • Train employees on proper equipment usage and safety practices.
  • Respond to and document any safety incidents or near-misses.
• Reporting and Communication :
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, inventory levels, and employee attendance.
  • Communicate with supervisors and management regarding production status, challenges, and improvement opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Experience :
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, in a leadership role.
• Skills :
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Education :
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Additional technical training or certifications in manufacturing processes.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions.

Work Schedule

• Full-time position with potential overtime as required.
• Shift hours may vary depending on production demands.
